TV Review: Knight Rider 2008

As if the foul stench of the TV movie pilot wasn’t enough to disuade NBC from pushing this crap any further, the peacock network actually turned the hard-ly har har re-imagined Knight Rider pilot into a full blown TV series. The only thing is? It’s woefully craptastic. Not only does KITT (now known as the Knight Industries Three Thousand) wash dishes and scrub floors, he converts into completely different vehicles… a Ford F150, Ford Focus.. As long as it’s a Ford? He can morph into it. It’s just one big long bad product placement for a major NBC sponsor.

Don’t want to take my word for it?

Check the reviews:

“Everything that made the original fun and unique has effectively been scrubbed away from this new edition that's all about high-tech gadgetry, speed and sex and only the tiniest shred about story and personality. The gambit surrounding KITT the talking car is no longer a gimmick so much as a device to attach a James Bond-ish edge to an hour devoid of soul.”
– Hollywood Reporter

“NBC's new "Knight Rider" series is ever-so-slightly better than the "Knight Rider" TV movie that aired earlier this year. But that's not saying much. "Knight Rider," premiering tonight at 8 on WPXI, is still laughably bad.” – Pittsburgh Post Gazette

“The NBC show… wants to be high-octane fun, something like Matt Damon's Jason Bourne movies with a Batmobile, but it's so poorly directed and listlessly acted it's more like "Get Smart" meets "Pimp My Ride." – Boston.com

“Last night’s season premiere of the re-tooled KNIGHT RIDER series was quite literally unwatchable”
– DVRPlayground

The only thing worth watching in this high tech disaster, besides Deanna Russo? Is for all the Ford hoonage and car porn.

That said, don’t waste your time.

I'm rating the show a great big..
