DLP is Dead. Long Live DLP!

A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about the supposed upcoming death of DLP. The Rear Projection DLP TV industry had taken a few hits with the closing of the Toshiba, Philips and Hitachi Rear Projection TV plants leaving Samsung and Mitsubishi the only remaining DLP RPTV producers left in the market. Along with Texas Instruments, the creator of the technology, it appears that they are staying the course with new 3D, LED and Ultra-Slim TV's still hitting the market.

Well Mitsubishi has displayed a new 65 inch Rear Projection DLP with a laser backlight that knocked the socks off of the guys over at the Giz.

"The result is some of the most vivid color we've ever seen on any TV, especially the primary colors of red, green and blue. The blacks were midnight-dark, too, and there was even a 3D version of the TV (goofy glasses required) that only made us slightly cross-eyed." ~Gizmodo

Cross eyed? You mean like those glasses in 'The Jerk'?

Um yea. Anywayz. The company says that the TV should hit the market later this year.
